Our Story

Property investment was never just about money for us—it was about freedom, stability, and making thoughtful choices for the future.

Before we even bought our own home, we invested in two student HMOs in Huddersfield—spotting potential in the more affordable Northern market while still renting in the South.

Through career changes, house moves, and raising two kids, we steadily built a portfolio of nine properties, now home to 34 tenants. Based in the Peak District, we focus on well-managed student and residential homes in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

For us, Holm Oak is more than a property business—it’s a way to create good homes, grow long-term value, and help others do the same.

What we're working on

At Holm Oak, we’re proud to focus our work in and around Newcastle-under-Lyme - a town we know well, and where we see real opportunities to make a difference.

Since 2009, we’ve been growing our student HMO portfolio to meet the needs of Keele University’s thriving student population. Today, we own and manage six high-quality HMOs, providing safe, well-managed homes just a few miles from campus.

But our mission goes beyond student housing. With many buildings in the town centre underused or empty, we’re now expanding into commercial-to-residential conversions - creating affordable, modern accommodation that supports local people and brings new life to the high street.

For us, it’s not just about investing in property—it’s about helping our local area thrive.
